2020 Volvo Penta D8 MH 221 KW

Volvo Penta D8 MH is a variable speed, in-line 6-cylinder, 7.7-liter diesel engine using common-rail fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, a twin-entry turbo. This contributes to excellent operating economy and world-class diesel performance, combined with low emissions and noise.

THE PERFECT MATCH

Volvo Penta’s full range of marine diesel engines offer reliable and fuel-efficient onboard electrical power generation and power for cranes, pumps, air compressors and other heavy equipment.

RELIABLE AND POWERFUL

No matter what application, this auxiliary engine’s robust design with a ladder frame bolted to the engine block makes it highly reliable. Its rigid in-line cylinder block with generously dimensioned crankshaft bearings, water-cooled exhaust manifold, and twin-entry turbo provide a powerful engine.

HIGH FUEL EFFICIENCY AND LOW ON EMISSIONS AND NOISE

The common-rail fuel system makes the engine highly fuel efficient. The control unit monitors several parameters which reduces the overall fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions. The common-rail technology means minimal vibrations and low noise levels.

SUPERIOR LOAD-TAKING CAPABILITY

Together, the twin-entry turbo with pulse charging, and the highly efficient speed control system give this engine superior load-taking capability.

ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS

Two options for on-board electronic control: Marine Commercial Control System is a flexible and expandable control and monitoring system for classified installations. Open CAN Interface, engine delivered without control system, with different options with or without shut-down system.

EASY INSTALLATION – SERVICE FRIENDLY

Designed to withstand high exhaust back pressure, this auxiliary engine is easy to install and perfect for installations that require additional, third-part emission control equipment. Easily accessible service points.
